The 2022 Roc de Cambes is stellar. Blackberry, espresso, licorice, menthol, pine and incense open first as this dark, unctuous Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend makes its presence known. A wine of textural resonance and concentration, Roc de Cambes is seriously impressive in 2022. In fact, this is one of the very finest vintages I have tasted. I would give the 2022 a few years to shed some baby fat. 01/2025

The 2022 Roc de Cambes remains perfumed and sensual on the nose with black cherries, peony and iris flower alongside a hint of cassis that blossoms in the glass. This has wonderful delineation. The medium-bodied palate has grainy tannins and comes across slightly more toasty than the Domaine des Cambes, leading to a tensile finish of black pepper, sage and graphite. This is the most linear and Left-Bank-fashioned cuvée from the Mitjavile family this year, and it has bags of potential. 01/2025

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

Mingling aromas of sweet cherries and cassis with notions of licorice, espresso roast and spices, the 2022 Roc de Cambes is medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a broad-shouldered profile, framed by powdery tannins, and concluding with a chalky finish. This is always the most structured wine in the Mitjaville portfolio. 04/2023

The 2022 Roc De Cambes is brilliant and just another richly textured, concentrated, impressive wine from the team at Tertre Roteboeuf. Darker currants, chocolaty oak, cigar tobacco, and graphite are just some of its nuances, and it’s medium to full-bodied, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and a great finish. It promises 15+ years of prime drinking. 02/2025
