Antonio Galloni

Vinous

The 2024 Sociando-Mallet is elegant, polished and very sophisticated. Fine tannins wrap around a solid base of dark plum, lavender, mocha, licorice and mint. The 100% new oak is barely perceptible. Floral and saline undertones shape the long, beautifully persistent finish. This is a super-impressive Sociando. 04/2025

Neal Martin

Vinous

The 2024 Sociando-Mallet has a light, slightly gravelly, herbaceous bouquet that needs to muster more fruit. The palate is medium-bodied and typical of the estate's style—maybe a bit green around the edges, but there is an attractive core of red fruit and a touch of spice on the finish. Those who like this château will appreciate this wine, though it is not a long-term prospect. 04/2025

William Kelley

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

A blend of 57% Merlot and 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2024 Sociando-Mallet offers up aromas of cassis, plums and pencil shavings, followed by a medium-bodied, suave and lively palate with good depth and balance. It represents a very strong performance in this challenging vintage. 04/2025

A blend of 57% Merlot and 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2024 Château Sociando Mallet shows a great color and darker purple hue, offering cassis, graphite, spice wood, and violet aromas. Classic and medium-bodied, it shows a beautiful mid-palate, ripe tannins, and integrated acidity. 05/2025

Beau rouge sombre, aux reflets pourpres. Intense. Nez moyennement intense, au fruité précis. Délicat à l'attaque, savoureux au milieu, le vin caresse le palais, juteux, parfumé et sans angle tannique. Longueur normale. 04/2025

92-93

Zekun Shuai

James Suckling

Textured and perfumed, showing subtle minerals to the pure red and blue fruit. Tense and medium-bodied on the palate with firm, nicely chewy tannins. Juicy and vibrant in the finish. A lighter vintage offers more approachability this year. Linear, slim and very fresh. 57% merlot and 43% cabernet sauvignon. 04/2025
