The 2019 Pinot Noir Malans Unique offers a deliciously sweet, refined and charming Pinot bouquet of red berries and crushed stones. Full-bodied, intense and energetic on the palate, this is a fascinating, pure, fresh and promising Pinot with great finesse and mineral tension. Not much flesh and hedonism here at this early stage but purity, elegance, freshness and lingering, stimulating salinity. This is another fabulous wine that is not far in quality from the 2018 but probably more intellectual. 13.5% stated alcohol. Tasted from magnum in Zurich, April 2022. 06/2022

The complex nose of red cherry, cardamon, allspice and dried thyme pulls you into this concentrated and well-structured Swiss pinot noir that has plenty of savory character wrapped around the core of fine tannins. Very long, focused finish with excellent tension. Drinkable now, but best from 2024. 04/2022
