Vinous

The 2022 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has an attractive bouquet: freshly squeezed lemon, orange pith and grapefruit. The palate is medium-bodied, the 50% new oak neatly integrated. There’s fine depth even if the previous vintage is endowed with a little more mineralité on the finish. Drink over the next 12 to 15 years. 11/2023

Inside Burgundy

Mid lemon yellow. Some delicacy, without disputing the imminent power. A pure bench of fresh white fruit, actually this is more about nuances than power, though it maintains energy all the way through, to a fine long finish. Love the tension, and the finesse, while some other versions may be more intense. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Oct 2023.

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

The 2022 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with aromas of peach, ripe citrus fruits, white flowers and toasted nuts, followed by a full-bodied, satiny and textural palate that's rich, lively and saline. Jérôme Flous and his team have produced another compelling range of 2022s, and it's hardly surprising, given the high level of vineyard management chez Faiveley or the skill and precision brought to bear in the winery and the cellar. As is often the case up and down the Côte d'Or, the style is more delicate and sensual than was the case in 2020, and the wines seem set to offer broad drinking windows. 01/2024

Such a classic example of this appellation with the generosity and density we expect from Batard, but this is interwoven with stunning citrusy freshness that magnifies the complexity at the expansive, yet precise finish. From old vines purchased in 2008. 06/2023
