Vinous

The 2022 Le Carillon d'Angélus is a rich, boisterous wine. Succulent dark cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather and licorice are nicely pushed forward. Racy and pliant, the 2022 Carillon is showing quite well in this tasting. 04/2023

The 2022 Le Carillon d'Angélus was an impressive Deuxième Vin from barrel. Now in bottle, it has a clean, fresh and delineated bouquet with blackberry and graphite scents. The palate is medium-bodied and slightly granular in texture, with pliant tannins. It’s harmonious with a pretty, red cherry- and cranberry-tinged finish that exerts a light grip. This is quite delicious. 01/2025

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

Based on Merlot from the cool, clay-limestone terroirs of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, the 2022 Le Carillon d'Angélus offers up aromas of sweet berries, plums, orange zest, cigar wrapper and creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, it's deep and dense, with lively acids, sweet tannins and a gently lactic finish.03/2025

The 2022 Château Angelus Carillon brings another level of class and purity, with beautiful cassis, spicy wood, spring flowers, and smoky, tobacco nuances. It's beautifully textured, has medium to full-bodied richness, and pure, polished tannins. It's a brilliant second wine from this team that has the class of a Grand Vin. 02/2025

Aromas of fresh herbs, such a basil and lemon grass, come through here, together with blackberries, dark plums and some orange peel. Medium-boded with medium, velvety tannins that provide layers and a polished texture. It's long and creamy with lovely fruit at the end. A beautiful wine with a pretty structure, too. Drinkable now, but better after 2027. 01/2025
