Gantenbein's 2008 Chardonnay is the greatest "Ganti" I have tasted so far. This bottle, tasted in the Baur au Lac at the end of August 2017, was in perfect shape. The wine has an intense color and opens with a rich and matured, creamy and caramelly, spicy and buttery nose. It is a full-bodied, rich, fiery, powerful, firm, fresh and salty Chardonnay from calcareous slate. It is juicy on the palate but also very mineral and fresh and develops an enormously long, vital, complex and persistently structured finish. Impressive! 09/2017
