Vinous

Moderately saturated medium red. Wild aromas of briary raspberry, rose petal and spices complicated by hints of leather and underbrush. Fine-grained on entry, then a bit youthfully aggressive in the middle palate, with its flavors of raspberry, redcurrant and brown spices showing moderate depth and sweetness for grand cru. Notes of tobacco and dried flowers add complexity. Tannins are dusty and strong but just barely avoid dryness. This needs time, but does it have the inherent sweetness and silkiness to improve? My sample softened nicely with 24 hours in the recorked bottle. 12/2017
