The 1995 Branaire-Ducru has a generous bouquet that might be a tad riper than the 1996 with blackberry, dark plum, a touch of sage and tobacco all with fine delineation. The palate is more forward than the 1996, a little ripe but I prefer the structure on the 1995. A subtle saline touch on the entry, dusky red-berried fruit with cedar and a touch of tobacco on the finish. Lovely. Tasted from an ex-château bottle at a vertical in London. 03/2020

A beauty in the elegant, restrained, finesse school of winemaking, the dark ruby/purple-colored 1995 Branaire exhibits a floral, cranberry, cherry, and black currant-scented nose intermixed with high quality toasty new oak. Medium-bodied, with excellent definition, supple tannin, and an attractive, alluring personality, this pleasant, measured yet complex wine should drink well young, and keep for two decades. 02/1998

Voici un des 1995 que j'apprécie beaucoup depuis sa naissance. Cette dégustation confirme sa très bonne tenue. Il se distingue par l'absence de tanins rudes en finale. Très beau rouge sombre, avec des reflets noirs et très légère évolution sur la frange. Beau nez, frais, fruité, pur, intense. Plus subtil sur le vin décanté. Très belle entrée en bouche, suave, se développant élancée sur une bonne corpulence. Tout le long du palais le vin joue entre la suavité, la douceur et la fermeté tannique. Jamais le tannin n'est rugueux ou massif. Et pourtant il reste présent en finale. Belle longueur séveuse. On le suce ! Un vin qui parfume le palais dans la persistance. Ici une courte décantation (5 minutes) a ouvert la fin de bouche. 01/2007
