Vinous

The 2024 Le Bon Pasteur is terrific. Creamy and layered, with fine persistence, Le Bon Pasteur is quite impressive in 2024. All the elements are so well balanced. Dark red cherry, menthol, spice, cedar and pipe tobacco all build in this highly attractive, open-knit Pomerol. Of course, Le Bon Pasteur is a very distinctive Pomerol in that many of the parcels are in Saint-Émilion's Corbin sector but are authorized for use as Pomerol. The 2024 is a total delight. Consulting Winemaker Julien Viaud continues to do important work in updating Le Bon Pasteur to a more contemporary style. What a delight. Tasted three times. 04/2025

Vinous

The 2024 Le Bon Pasteur, aged in 50% new oak, has a well-defined bouquet with mainly black fruit, pressed flowers and just a bit of iodine. The palate is rounded on the entry with pliant tannins. This is not a complex Le Bon Pasteur and is shorter than other vintages, but it retains focus and should drink well for up to a decade. 04/2025

Ripe black cherries, smoky oak, graphite, and chocolaty notes all emerge from the 2024 Château Le Bon Pasteur, an undeniable success in the vintage. Based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, it brings medium to full-bodied richness, a round, layered, lush mouthfeel, terrific mid-palate depth, and sweet tannins. Aged 15 months in French oak (50% new), it has nicely integrated background oak, and while it will drink well right out of the gate, it's going to age gracefully as well. 05/2025

Bravo ! Assemblage : 80 % merlot, 20 % cabernet franc. Degré d'alcool : 13° - pH : 3,67. Rendement : 35 hl/ha. Production : 20 000 bouteilles. 04/2025

A solid, fleshy and chalky Pomerol. Red berries and bark dominate on the nose. Fine, firm tannins with good energy on the palate. Persistent finish. 04/2025
