The 2024 Rouget is a standout. Floral top notes meld into a core of red-toned fruit, mocha, spice, new leather and cedar. The aromatics are so central in the wine's personality. The 2024 Rouget has a pure bouquet with blueberry and cassis scents, quite floral and almost Margaux-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and fine acidity, harmonious though not complex. Because of that, this Rouget has a fine natural "flow" and should provide 12 to 15 years of drinking pleasure. 04/2025

From argilo-graveleux soils and based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, brought up in 30% new oak for 16 months, the 2024 Château Rouget has a distinctly herbal component in its darker fruits as well as peppery herbs, graphite, and damp earth-like nuances. It's beautiful on the palate and has a ripe, layered mouthfeel, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It's a singular, impressive, beautiful wine that I'd be happy to own. 05/2025
