Vinous

Ineffable aromas of powdered stone, violet, lemon, lime and sea salt. Precise and penetrating wine, with outstanding clarity, energy and cut. Subtle but endlessly complex flavors of crushed stone, citrus peel, hazelnut, flowers and spices. Conveys an impression of chewy extract and yet seems utterly weightless. Wonderfully gripping wine but not austere or hard. This must be one of the longest wines of the vintage. Boasts great inner-mouth energy and lift. 09/2006

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

The nose is much more backward than the Batard, quite steely, flinty and reserved. Touch of oyster shell developing again. The palate is very well balanced, more minerally than the Batard with kiwi and star fruit on the finish. Is that a touch of marzipan lingering on the finish. Very fine, quite intellectual wine. Excellent. 2/06 01/2000
