Antonio Galloni

Vinous

The 2019 Clementin de Pape Clément is a gorgeous second wine that captures all of the personality of the Grand Vin in a more accessible package that will be ready to drink upon release. Spice, tobacco, earthy and savory notes add layers of nuance to this pliant, beautifully textured wine. 06/2020

Vinous

The 2019 Clémentin de Pape Clément has calmed down on the nose, offering quite refined dark cherries and boysenberry and iodine aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins, quite lush and confit-like. Touches of orange rind and white pepper mixed with clove appear toward the finish. Fine. 12/2021

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

Composed of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 65% Merlot, the 2019 Clémentin de Pape Clement was harvested from the 18th of September to the 11th of October. Ninety-three percent is aging in French oak barriques, 66% new, and 7% is aging in large foudres. Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose hits the ground running with exuberant plum preserves and baked cherries scents plus wafts of raspberry leaves, wild sage, damp soil and nutmeg. Medium-bodied, the palate has plenty of character and zing with a grainy texture, oodles of freshness and a mineral-tinged finish. Juni 2020

A medium-bodied red with blackberries and crushed stones. Walnuts and pine box, too. Medium, round tannins and a juicy finish. Second wine of Pape Clement. Drink after 2024. 02/2022
