Vinous

The 2022 Croix de Beauséjour is a delightful second wine. Aromatic and light on its feet, this mid-weight Saint-Émilion is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Crushed flowers, spice and new leather add layers of understated nuance. It's all class and refinement here. 01/2025

Vinous

The 2022 Croix de Beauséjour, which saw 20% new oak, has a light, very subtle pine-tinged bouquet that needs time to open in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with blueberry and vanillary notes, a slightly granular texture and a sweet core of fruit. There is plenty of sucrosity on the finish, though tasting it a few weeks later, it had tightened up nicely with a more peppery finish. Therefore, give it two or three years in bottle. Tasted twice. 01/2025

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

The 2022 Croix de Beauséjour is the estate's second wine, a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc raising in 20% new oak, with the balance once-used barrels and concrete vats. Offering up aromas of sweet blackberries and vanilla pod, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and lively, with powdery tannins that assert themselves on the gently grippy finish. 03/2025

The 2022 Croix De Beauséjour (Duffau-Lagarrosse) is based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc brought up in 50% new French oak. It’s a juicy, lively, elegant second wine that has lovely cherry and darker fruits as well as some lively floral and herbal nuances. This medium-bodied, nicely balanced 2022 has integrated acidity and a great finish. Drink bottles over the coming 10-12 years. 02/2025

Couleur rouge, d'intensité normale. Nez fruité et subtil. La même grâce tactile de son aîné se retrouve ici, avec moins d'enveloppe charnu et de profondeur. Tout fond, délicieux, parfumé et très agréable. 02/2025

Pie crust, warm spices, dense and glossy plums and berries, and touches of dark chocolate and chalk on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate, with fine, dusty tannins and a lengthy finish. Drink from 2027. 01/2025
