A blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from 50+ year-old vines in Chigny-Les-Roses, the 2013 Brut Spécial Club is bright, precise and full of character. Crushed rocks, slate, mint, white pepper and jasmine are all finely cut. The 2013 will appeal most to readers who enjoy nervy Champagnes built on tension more than overt body. Clean mineral notes inform the bracing finish. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. 11/2023
