A clear purple, a little lighter than the Vieilles Vignes, for which an extra degree of finesse compensates, and very attractive, offering fresher red raspberry with some length. I suspect that for me the Vieilles Vignes bottling is still the more compelling. Drink from 2029-2037. Tasted Nov 2024.

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles is livelier than the Vieilles Vignes bottling, reflecting its hillside origins. Exhibiting aromas of dark berries, spices, violets and licorice, it's medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with bright acids, powdery tannins and a mouthwatering finish. 01/2025
