Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

Harvested in mid-September at comparatively low yields, the 2019 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Chouilly Le Mont-Aigu, disgorged in June 2025 with a dosage of four grams per liter, remains—as ever—the richest and most dramatic wine in the range. It bursts from the glass with a deep bouquet of lemon confit, crisp pear, peach and almond paste, mingled with notes of freshly baked bread. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, ample and textural, built around a muscular core of ripe, mature fruit, supported by succulent yet vibrant acidity and concluding in a long, enveloping finish. As always, it is more powerful than La Cocluette and Les Robarts. Readers will recall that this cuvée is sourced from a south-facing parcel planted in 1978, delivering concentrated fruit of high maturity but low yields, shaped in part by the presence of grapevine fanleaf virus. 02/2026
