The 2025 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron is absolutely gorgeous. Broad, ample and creamy in the glass, the 2025 is seriously beautiful right out of the gate. Black cherry, plum, new leather, licorice, incense and mocha flesh out the layers effortlessly. The blend is 62% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc, but the Cabernets really drive the flavor profile and structure. The Griffons might very well be the star of the show this year, given its quality and price. Élevage is projected to be 15 months, with 50% new wood. 04/2026

The 2025 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron is maturing in 50% new oak for a planned 15 months. This has a relatively light bouquet that unfolds in the glass, mainly black fruit, cracked black pepper, pencil shavings and bay leaf. Just a light briny sea spray scent sits in the back seat. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins, fine acidity, gentle grip and a balanced, off-dry finish that lingers in the mouth. A step up from the previous vintage. 05/2026

Medium- to full-bodied, dense and structured, it’s built around a fleshy core of fruit framed by youthful tannins and concludes with a long, ethereal finish. Checking in as a Merlot-dominant blend of 62% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Cabernet Franc, the 2025 Les Griffons De Pichon Baron offers up terrific though more Cabernet-driven aromatics of cassis, juicy black cherries, sappy flowers, and violets on the nose, with some serious Pauillac graphite and lead pencil nuances showing up with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it's balanced and concentrated, with integrated acidity and ripe tannins. It will spend 15 months in equal parts new and one-vintage-old barrels and checks in at 13.2% alcohol with a pH of 3.67. 05/2026

Délicieux à l'attaque, suave au milieu, avec de la classe dans le toucher et un déroulé lent, le vin finit long, séveux, avec un retour de l'arôme dans la persistance. C'est minutieusement fait et incrachable. Assemblage : 62 % Merlot, 34 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 4 % Cabernet Franc. Degré d'alcool : 13°2 - pH : 3,67. Rendement : 24 hl/ha.
