Vinous

The 2021 Montrachet Grand Cru, reduced to two and a half barrels, has an intense mineral, wet limestone/petrichor nose that blossoms with aeration. The palate is beautifully balanced with real concentration, a perfect line of acidity, multi-layered towards the finish with orange zest and apricot. But the Perrières has more mineralité and nervosité. 11/2022

Inside Burgundy

A clear fresh colour. Some pineapple on the nose, quite exotic for Montrachet. Brilliant tension here over and above the first wine, but less class in the fruit. The pineapple maintains place on the palate, though without any other exotic fruit which might then have indicated botrytis. There is a little sucrosity at the finish. Gets more botrytised with time. Drink from 2028-2035. Tasted May 2025.

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

There are two and a half barrels of the 2021 Montrachet Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, enveloping and seamless wine redolent of pear, peach, freshly baked bread, baking spices and a subtle top note of petrol. Satiny and complete, it's deep and vibrant, concluding with a long, resonant finish. 01/2023
