Vinous

Bright red-ruby. Brilliant aromas of strawberry, raspberry, cherry and bitter chocolate. Wonderfully intense, sharply delineated flavors of red berries, spices and mint; a wine of great density and verve, not to mention powerful structure for long life. A rare combination of silky texture and lightness of touch. Fabulous back end features utterly suave tannins and resounding, vibrant fruit. 03/2001

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

A light ruby colour. The nose is intense with smoke, cranberry, autumn leaves and cooked meats. Good definition. The palate is vibrant with real attack on the entry, notes of red cherries, cranberry and an animally note coming through. There is a touch of hardness towards the finish that spoils the overall effect and a vanillary element that suggests that the oak has left too much of a mark. But it is an enjoyable Amoureuses and commendable for the vintage. Drink now-2015. Tasted December 2008. 05/2009
