Robert Parker/Wine Advocate

From vines planted in 1999 (genetics sourced from Fritz Haag, Mosel) and after the spectacular rockfall in December 2017 that damaged numerous plants, the stainless steel-fermented 2022 Riesling opens with a clear, pure, intense and coolish bouquet that combines schistose precision with ripe, elegant and concentrated fruit. All botrytis, that occurred despite the dry summer, was sorted out, so the must weights were between 90° and 93° Oechsle. Full-bodied, intense and juicy on the palate, this is a rich but fine, elegant and even weightless Riesling with ripe, saline acidity and an intense, aromatic as well as savory finish. This is a mouth-filling and enormously salivating dry Riesling with terroir expression. Even though the wine is still dominated by its primary fruit, it shows remarkable purity, finesse and length. There was no malolactic fermentation, and the wine was filtered. Tasted at the domaine in March 2024. 03/2024
