Tasted at Flint Wine’s 2008 horizontal in London. The nose seems to have closed down from last year with aromas of damp undergrowth, raspberry leaf, red cherries, crushed stone. The palate is well balanced with very fine tannins, elegant and refined, sensual pure red fruits on the elegant finish. Beautiful. Tasted February 2011. 05/2011

Good medium-deep red. Ripe aromas of raspberry, licorice and smoked meat, with deeper-pitched soil tones adding nuance. Like liquid velvet in the mouth, conveying an impression of huge volume without heaviness. Not showing its treble notes now but this expands in the mouth and explodes on the palate-staining finish. Seems already to be going into a shell; today the Orveaux is more expressive. 03/2011
